September Is Your Runway

business lifestyle Aug 12, 2025

We are two weeks away from the start of September. For most people, the next fortnight will pass in a blur, half in holiday mode, half distracted by “I’ll start when summer is over.”

And then they will wake up in early September thinking they have plenty of time. They will not realise that their momentum could have already been built.

The truth is simple: momentum is not created on the first day of a new month or a new quarter. It is created now, in the weeks before.

These two weeks are your quiet advantage.

You Are Not Confused. You Are Contained.

When people say they feel stuck, I often find they are not truly lost.

They know a chapter is complete, but it still looks fine on paper. They know what they want, but it asks for a different level of leadership. They know the decision, but they have not yet given themselves permission to act on it.

This is not confusion. It is containment.

Containment costs you more the longer you wait. One of the most effective ways to break it is to act before the “right time” arrives.

Why Starting Now Beats Waiting for September

Right now, there is no pressure. You have space to prepare, experiment, and make small adjustments without the weight of a ticking clock.

In September, priorities will sharpen. Budgets will be reviewed. Deadlines will appear.

If you wait until then, you will spend the first month warming up. If you start now, you will enter September already in motion.

Three Things to Do in the Next Two Weeks

1. Name what is complete. Make a short list of what you’ve quietly outgrown, a role, an offer, a way of working. Write down why it mattered and why it no longer fits. This will free the energy you’ve been using to keep it alive.

2. Make one visible move. Not dramatic, just undeniable. Book the conversation you’ve been postponing. Write the first outline of something you want to create. Clear a recurring block of time for your next priority.

3. Protect a simple cadence. Set aside one hour for strategy, one hour for creation, and one hour for relationships each week between now and September. Keep the promise.

Release the Myth of the “Perfect Start”

There is no perfect start date. There is only the choice to start before you are ready.

January is not a magic reset button. Neither is the first day of Q4.

If you arrive undecided, you will spend your first six weeks building momentum you could already have. If you arrive clear, you will spend those same six weeks building results.

A Sentence to Carry Into September

Say this before your next decision:

I already know. I am willing to act on what I know.

It will remind you that you are not waiting for clarity, you are practising the courage to honour it.

Use these two weeks. By the time September arrives, you will already be moving.

Thank you for being here. If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you, or simply connect.

In the meantime, be well, be happy and have a wonderful week.
